I thought this film, from what we saw, was really heart-wrenching. It was really dreadful seeing how many families were affected during those times. An image that really stood out to me throughout the entire film was the little girl in the film that was standing on the table and how horribly skinny/thin she was. It was tragic to see how such young children were affected as well. But, asides from the emotional part of the film, I thought it was really interesting that a lot of Nazi Party members didn't actually like Hitler. But Hitler managed to gain a sufficient amount of followers just because of his speeches and how powerful he presented them, and it really encouraged people to follow that party.

This movie was difficult to watch; to see the Hoovervilles and see how people were legitimatly living in underground homes or tents. It was incredibly hard to imagine how people would handle a situation similar to what happened in the film. I also agree with Celina when she said its kind of strange knowing now that the Nazi Party didn't really like Hitler back then, but went along with the public.

So far, to be completely honest this film is disgusting. The thought that people have so much evil within them to kill the innocent and throw their bodies into trenches piled up. Sick and injured people all over the streets. I didn't know that a lot of people didn't like Hitler and the Nazi party, i just wonder how he could actually get that powerful to create concentration camps and kill jewish people and communists. Sickening really.

I thought this film was very well made, and did a great job covering what was happening in Germany at the time. I really liked the insight it gave on Hitler and what he was really like in person. The interviews with soldiers that actually fought for him was very interesting. Most of them did not like him very much as well as his mustache. I could not understand that through his speeches he sold an entire country his own ideas, and got people to believe in him and take control of the country and all the power that comes with it. It is scary that a person with horrid beliefs but exceptional speech making skills can do things like what Hitler did in Germany and to the entire world.

I thought this film was pretty interesting as it really highlighted Hitler’s rise to power and how exactly he got to where he was. This film really gives an insight into Hitler’s mind and what his what he was attempting to accomplish.

I was amazed at how powerful Hitler was through his speeches. I learned from the film that many people did not particularly like Hitler, but his powerful and engaging speeches attracted more and more followers. I agree with Nick that its scary to think that someone who was not well liked and had such horrid beliefs had the ability to gain power and millions of followers.

So far this film has been very interesting and very informitive as to what went on and how Hitler came to be. I can't beleive what they did to people and how they did because it just isant rite.

Seeing this film shows that at the time of chaos people loose judgment and put people into power that could abuse it. Germany, in struggle turned toward a Nazi party that used their influence to assimilate their country. Essentially brainwashing the German people. In tough economic times gives opportunity for an extremist leader or a party. Knowing who to trust to lead people out of an economic crisis is crucial.

I think this film is very informative, as it goes into detail regarding Hitler’s rise to power, and the general view of Hitler in the eyes of members of the Nazi Party. I was very surprised to find out that Hitler was not particularly liked by the majority of Germans at the time, even though he had gotten them to follow him through his great talent in presentation in his speeches. This is somewhat of a terrifying thought, that someone who only gained 25% of the vote in their country’s election can gain followers the way Hitler did, especially considering his radical beliefs. I also agree with Paul that part of this is due to the fact that the German economy was in very tough shape, and after losing World War I, the German people were seeking change.

Although I was absent the first day the film was showed in class, the part that I saw today was very interesting. Hearing one of Hitler's speeches really showed me what a great speaker he was and I think that could have been another reason Hitler gained so much support. It was also interesting to hear stories from former Nazis because it gives a point of view we don't often hear about Hitler and what happened. I agree with Matt Hally that it is very scary to think that somebody who gained only 25% of the vote and was clearly unliked by the people could rise to such power.

I was absent on the first day of watching this film, but the small portion that I did see was very interesting. I have always heard that Hitler's speeches were the reason that he had so many followers and after seeing how dynamic of a speaker he is, I can see why. I agree with Sarah and Matt that the fact that someone with views this radical can get into a powerful position with only a quarter of the vote is ridiculous.

I agree with celina and pretty mush everbody in our class when we say the pictures we saw were dreadful and unhumane. I aslo was stunned how Hitler could persuade a nation by his use of speaches. I am also stunned that he (Hitler) could go on speaking for hours with out a telecompter or anytechnology to help him. It also scares me because he was that passionate about what he was doing which is clearly wrong.
