While watching the film "Triumph of the Will," my first question was how could Hitler make all of those speeches without any emotion at all. When 200,000 people were screwming "Heil Hitler," really all he did was raise his arm.
It was also weird to consider the fact that what I was watching in class today captivated thousands of minds thousands of people in Nazi Germany, and I didn't feel any inclination towards Hitler (I actually felt the opposite). It just goes to show you what a little less ignorance can do for someone.

"TheTriumph of hte Will" was an extremely moving and encouraging film. The propagandacompleted its job by forcing the viewers to see the charisma and strength that hitler had. The film is meant to inspire its viewers to be more adiment followers of Nazi rule and to fully support the ideas imbedded in it. The music, images, words, andfaces in the film work together to complete the strong impact on its audience. Personally .. if i had been a girl in Germany at that time, i must admit thati would have been moved enough to follow Hitler in his pursuit to "better" Germany and unify its people.

Also, Like Hannah, i did find it interesting that with such a sumple gesture Hitler could take so much control. The raised arm and saying, "Heil Hitler" became known world-wide and is still a familiar token today. It is quite strange that such simple gestures and words can inspire a nation to come together and aventually take part in the Nazi's killing of all of those who did not fit the "perfect Aryan race"

I was shocked to see that so many people were supportive of Hitler and followed him loyally, when he only expressed his intentions/ "good deeds" for Germany in words while in reallity, he was causing so much pain. Just from his speeches, everyone was heiling him. I agree with Hannah when she says that so many people were for Hitler, while I feel the opposite. I do not believe that I would ever follow someone like Hitler because of his speeches and words to save Germany.

I was amazed by the amount of supporters that attended Hitler's rallies. His charisma truly attracted the German citizens to abide by his ideals in their everyday life and worship his authority over the nation. His speeches depicted his confidence during his reign over the country and how he exerted it into his actions. I agree with Hannah that the arm motion of "Heil Hitler" was extremely powerful and was a great symbol of both Hitler and the Nazi party. The clips in this movie made a lasting impact on me about how great an audience he influenced.

I think that the "Triumph of the Will" was a very interesting propaganda film, and it was obviously very successfull when shown in Germany because so many people supported Hitler and his Nazi movement. I think that all of the clips, music, and imagery all added up to the inevitable following of Hitler. I still think that even if the film had not been made that people still would have followed him, but the film definitely added to his followers. This film was very interesting, and I think that with this film, i would have been easily converted into a Hitler follower when he began his rule. I think it was nearly impossible to not accept his ideas because life was so terrible in that time period in Germany

"Triumph of Will" demonstrated Hitler's incredible oratory skills. His speech empowered the youths and made them feel strong and superior to all others. His charisma simply overpowered all and the film portrayed him in such a good light with all of his followers chanting his name.

I agree with Fran, that had the movie not been made, Hitler would have still had followers, however the movie definitely aided Hitler's cause in portraying him as a righteous and charismatic man.

What this particular film has made me realize is the importance of political figures' abilities to speak in public. When times are tough for a nation, they do not look to the best potential political leader. They look to whoever sounds the best. Many people believe that Obama won our election because of his ability to speak. I agree with Fran that the economic status alone in Germany was enough to put Hitler into power. However, i think no one else was able to challenge him because he would look better whenever he spoke.

I was surprised at how much influence Hitler had with his words. I thought that it was exaggerated at first but the documentary definitely proved me wrong. It also seemed like Hitler had the people of Germany in his hand and they respected him and believed in him.

Whenever he said something of encouragement or for the future he was able to stir up his audience.

I think that this film has shown how powerful of a public speaker Hitler was and it were these charasmatic traits in his words and body language that won over the German people. I agree with Fran who said that Germany's economy was in such a poor state that the people were looking for anything resembling change. Hitler's radical views as well as his speaking abilities are what gave him the support he needed in order to carry out his plans of Genocide.

i thought the movie was pretty good on showing how Hitler captivated an entire Nation in just a few words. Men and even kids scream "Heil Hitler" form left to right chanting his name. i wouldnt rly call the German people ignorant because Hitler came at them like Jesus. He gave out jobs and fed them, relieved them of thier problems by blaming others like Jews, Gipsies and all he would ask for is for them to do as he says.

The most important message that this film would have conveyed to the German people is that Hitler is a very strong leader. He is popular and adored. He wants to help make Germany a better place, and every civilian should obey his orders.

Kyle, your observation that Hitler’s powerful speaking ability allowed him to win over the German people is a good one. However, I'd like to add that Hitler seemed to put himself in situations that glorified him. For example, he would stand in a fancy car, or stand on a balcony. He always seemed to at least be on a podium, and he made sure that he was surrounded by impressive sights such as orderly units of people. There seemed to be drums, trumpets, flags, and other symbols to make him seem more impressive and glorified.

"The Triumph of The Will" was a propoganda film created as Hitler was captivating the minds of millions of Germans. Every being in Germany was forced to watch this film and the Nazi's felt as if it was a good way to glorify Hitler and his ways. The first scene was extremely intersting to watch. The camera was in the sky facing downwards, looking down upon the city. This made Hitler seem above everyone else, almost God like. The images shown during the film showed happy German people willingly bowing down to Hitler and his authority. This film had great influence over the people, but I agree with Fran in the sense that regardless of the film, it was inevitable that Hitler would rise to power. The millions of Germans needed a leader who stood for change and Hitler provided that.

The "Triumph of the Will" was a very good film, in the way it showed how Hitler had so many followers. The film showed Hitler and his speeches and how when he spoke it was very powerful to the Germans, and it was as though they were memorized by Hitler and his words. At the Hitler youth rally the crowd of thousands went dead silent whenever Hitler spoke. The most important message about this film is that it shows how Germany was memorized by Hitler and that he and his group controlled the Germans and what they did, for example if you were to join the army. They said something in one of the speeches about how everyone will be here as in the youth center and learn to be in the army.

-Brittany Murphy

I also agree with what Hannah said, because it was so weird how Hitler just stood there with out any emotion while being surrounded by thousands of people who were memorized by his words and by him.
